Treasure Valley fence installation
High-desert conditions are brutal on softwood and cheap vinyl. UV degrades untreated cedar in 5 years and low-grade vinyl in 8. We spec kiln-dried Western red cedar with a UV-blocking finish, or heavy-gauge vinyl with UV inhibitors baked into the resin.
Local climate
High-desert climate with cold winters and dry summers. Frost line runs 24 to 30 inches. We set 36 inches deep and use UV-resistant vinyl and cedar for the intense summer sun.
Soil and dig conditions
Sandy loam over caliche in most of the Treasure Valley. Rock hammers occasionally required in Boise foothills; priced honestly per site.
Permits in Boise
City of Boise fence permits are pulled through the Planning and Development Services office. Fences over 6 feet require a permit.
HOA handling
Harris Ranch and most Meridian and Eagle subdivisions have HOAs with fence style and color specifications. ARC handling included.
