Chain Link Fence
Galvanized and black vinyl-coated chain link for pets, play areas, back lots and commercial sites.
Chain link, when function comes first
Chain link is the most economical way to enclose a yard, a dog run, a play area or a commercial lot. It goes up fast, it lasts, and in black vinyl-coated mesh it disappears into the landscaping far better than most people expect.
Options
- Galvanized: the standard silver mesh, the lowest cost per foot.
- Black or green vinyl-coated: coated mesh and framework, much less visible and easier on the eye in a back yard.
- Heights from three to twelve feet: four feet for pets and yards, six feet and up for commercial and security work.
- Gauge and mesh size: heavier wire and tighter mesh where security or large dogs are the concern.
- Add-ons: privacy slats, bottom tension wire, top rail or barbed arms on commercial installs.
Build details
Terminal posts set in concrete and sized for the pull, line posts spaced to the height and gauge, top rail run through the loops, and mesh stretched properly with a come-along rather than pulled by hand. A loose chain link fence sags within a year, and stretching is the difference.
Where it fits
Dog runs, back lots, rental properties, ball fields, storage yards, job sites and anywhere the budget matters more than the look. If appearance is a factor, black coated mesh is worth the upcharge.
