Wood is the material people pick when they want the yard closed off and they want it to look like a yard, not an enclosure. It is also the material that fails first when a crew rushes the posts. In Cincinnati that plays out against hillside lots, tight side-yard access, and a frost line you have to build under, so we quote the site rather than the linear footage.

What Cincinnati homeowners say

Read the reviews
We recently had our fence installed by Heartwood, and we are absolutely thrilled with both the finished product and the entire experience. From day one, Natalie set the tone with her incredible customer service.
Sarah Hysong, Cincinnati, OH
We found Heartwood Fence after seeing the excellent work they did for our neighbors one street over. Those neighbors were extremely satisfied and I can say we are as well with our new fence.
Stephanie Winters, Cincinnati, OH
Customer satisfaction from the start. Dedicated project manager, Natalie, oversaw construction to meet my needs. Worked through pop up rain at times to complete my project without any issues.

Wood Privacy Fence in Cincinnati, OH

Ground-contact rated posts, concrete with gravel at the base so water drains instead of standing, and picket spacing set for the look you want. We talk through cap and trim, stain now or stain later, and which side faces the street.

What Cincinnati adds to it

Every wood privacy fence we build here has to deal with hillside lots, tight side-yard access, and a frost line you have to build under. That changes post depth, spacing, and sometimes the layout itself, and it is the reason we walk the property before putting a number on paper.

What is included

Materials, labor, utility locates, permit filing, removal and haul-off of an existing fence when there is one, and a written workmanship warranty. No charge for the estimate and no charge for the paperwork.

When this is the right pick

Pick wood when screening is the actual goal. If you want the yard visible and the fence invisible, aluminum is the better spend and we will say so.

What works in Greater Cincinnati

  • Wood privacy is the workhorse and it racks cleanly on the hillside lots.
  • Aluminum holds up through freeze-thaw with no rot and keeps a river or valley view open.
  • Vinyl is a strong pick in the newer Mason and West Chester subdivisions where the yards are flatter and the HOAs are stricter.
  • Chain link covers dog runs and back property lines at the lowest cost per foot.

Built once, warrantied in writing

Our crews are local to the region and the workmanship warranty is a document, not a handshake.

How it works

  1. 1

    Walk the line with us

We meet you at the property, walk the fence line, mark the corners, and talk through height, style, and gate placement. You get a written number before we leave or the same day.

  2. 2

    We handle permits and locates

Utility locates, permit paperwork, and HOA submittals are on us. We confirm the property line with your plat so the fence lands where it belongs.

  3. 3

    Build, inspect, and warranty

Our crew sets posts, hangs panels, and hauls off the debris. We walk the finished line with you and back the work in writing.

Common questions

Cedar or pressure treated?
Cedar holds color and resists rot without treatment, and costs more. Pressure treated is the value pick and takes stain well. We quote both so the difference is a number, not an opinion.
When should I stain it?
Wait until the wood dries out, usually a few months after install. Staining wet lumber traps moisture and the finish will not hold.
How much does wood privacy fence cost in Cincinnati?
Pricing depends on linear footage, height, gates, terrain, and whether an old fence has to come out. You get a written number after we walk the property, not a phone guess.
How long does the install take?
Most residential yards are a one to two day build once materials are on site. Permit and any HOA review usually take longer than the construction does.
Is the work warrantied?
Yes, with a written workmanship warranty in addition to any manufacturer material warranty.
