Greenville has two fencing realities. In the older neighborhoods you are working around mature trees, existing retaining walls, and property lines that were surveyed decades ago. In the new subdivisions off Woodruff Road and out toward Simpsonville, you are working around an HOA design standard that dictates height, material, and sometimes color before you get a say.

We quote both the same way: pull the plat, read the covenant, walk the line, and give you a number that already accounts for the parts that are not obvious from the driveway.

Building in Upstate red clay

Clay is strong when it is dry and slick when it is wet, and it holds water against a post instead of draining it away. Our answer is gravel in the hole, a crowned concrete cap, and ground-contact rated posts. It is a small amount of extra work that shows up as a fence still standing straight in year eight.

Working with Upstate HOAs

Most of the newer communities here require an architectural review submittal with a plat drawing and a material spec. We prepare the packet and submit it. If your covenant caps you at a particular height or requires a specific picket profile, we will show you compliant options rather than let you submit something that gets rejected.

What Upstate homeowners usually choose

  • Vinyl privacy is the most requested material in the newer neighborhoods. It meets most covenant standards and it does not fade the way stained wood does under Upstate summer sun.
  • Wood privacy remains the value pick and the right look in the older tree-lined streets.
  • Aluminum is what we build around pools and along front yards where the HOA wants an open look.
  • Chain link handles back lots, dog runs, and anywhere function beats appearance.

One point of contact

You get the same estimator and crew lead from the walkthrough to the final inspection. No handoff to a call center in another state.

How it works

  1. 1

    Walk the line with us

We meet you at the property, walk the fence line, mark the corners, and talk through height, style, and gate placement. You get a written number before we leave or the same day.

  2. 2

    We handle permits and locates

Utility locates, permit paperwork, and HOA submittals are on us. We confirm the property line with your plat so the fence lands where it belongs.

  3. 3

    Build, inspect, and warranty

Our crew sets posts, hangs panels, and hauls off the debris. We walk the finished line with you and back the work in writing.

Common questions

Will you deal with my HOA?
Yes. We prepare the architectural review packet with the plat drawing and material spec and submit it for you.
Does red clay cause fence problems?
It holds water against the post, which shortens post life if the hole was not drained. We use gravel at the base and a crowned concrete cap to move water away.
Vinyl or wood in this climate?
Vinyl if you do not want a maintenance cycle and your covenant allows it. Wood if you want maximum height and screening for the budget, with a reseal every few years.
How far out are you booking?
Estimates are usually within 48 hours. Install timing depends on HOA review, which is often the longest step.
